Depression-Fighting Earbuds Shine Light Into Your Brain

Not sure what to think of these… and if i were you, i’d take it with a pinch of salt. I found it too amusing not to share. If anyone tests these out, let us know!

Light box therapy has long been the way of treating those with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). But a new development from a Finnish company Valkee could make treatment for SAD as simple as wearing earbuds for 8-12 minutes per day.

Finnish researchers have found that it’s not the eyes that need the light, but the brain, so transferring light through the ears is actually a more efficient way of activating photo-sensitive areas of gray matter that lift your mood.

So next time the grey winter weather gets you down, grab a couple of LED flashlights and point them to your ear canal :-)
