Some days agao, I ws transferring a website from one server to the other, and when it was time to update the name server it took really really longer than usual. After a couple of days i actually thought it was a problem with my connection so I went to check if it was actually a problem with my DNS. I went into CMD and used the ipconfig /flushdns… however it was popping out an error noting that “The requested operation requires elevation” At first I was a bit puzzled, since in the past and previous operating systems, this never occured to me. Then I remembered about the windows UAC and I thought it could be something related. So this is what you have to do to get rid of this problem.
- Click on Start and type in CMD – do not press Enter
- Right click the program that is listed on top cmd.exe
- From the right click menu, select Run As administrator.
- In the popup window, click on continue
To permanently remove this “problem” one has to disable the UAC feature from the windows control panel, however, according to Microsoft, this is not reccommended.
